Working Green

We all have a role in being environmental stewards. In recognition of that responsibility, Ricks Law has adopted policies to reduce our environmental impact. Some steps we have taken include:

Reduce Energy Use: When ample natural light is available, turn off the lights. At night, shut down computers and other electronic equipment and the power strips to which they are connected.
Drive Less: Walk and bike to appointments and errands. Work from home. Use online meeting services and video conferences to reduce travel needs.
Recycle and Reuse: Recycle paper, ink, batteries and electronics or have them disposed of appropriately. Find new uses for things, misprints can be scratch paper for a classroom, old business cards can be bookmarks. Discarded furniture and equipment can be donated for reuse by someone else.
Serve: Volunteer in the community. Set a good example to others. Donate time and money to worthy causes. Ricks Law has joined 1% For The Planet, an alliance of businesses financially committed to creating a healthy planet. Through this program, a minimum of 1% of annual profits are donated to approved environmental organizations of our choice.

Our community, business and family endeavors are impacted by the environment and vice versa. By acting responsibly we can improve the health of the environment which will in turn improve the health of our communities, businesses and families.
